I have been working in a hotel for about five years, and when our spa broke down I had to find some spa supplies as soon as possible to get it up and running again. I am a concierge for a fancy hotel, which means that I have to make everything as comfortable as possible for all of our guests. When I found one day that someone had been in our hot tub wearing a wig, and then the wig had come off and become lodged in the motor, I was a little aggravated.
I felt a little bit regretful for the woman who lost her wig, but since it was only hair extensions just worn for decoration, she should not have been wearing it in the hot tub. I managed to get the rest of the wig out of there, drained the tub and took apart the motor to see just how much damage had been sustained, and as soon as I saw it, I knew it needed to be replaced.
I went straight away to find the maintenance man to discuss what we would need to do to get the hot tub up and running again and he told me that it would be easy to fix once he got the parts he needed. It was my job to order the parts, but I had never had to order spa supplies before and I wanted to find a place that would have excellent replacement products that would stand the test of time, as our spa and pool are in nearly constant use. But we were on a tight budget, so I also wanted to find some place that would not charge us through the nose.
After some looking I found a website that had really good quality spa parts that were priced wonderfully. I even rushed the shipping so that they would come as soon as possible since in the meantime, our spa would not be working, and the hotels guests would complain a lot. At least I was able to let people know precisely when the hot tub would be fixed, which seemed to appease the customers and made life much easier for me.
As soon as I got the parts, I took them to the maintenance guy who started working on it right away and was soon able to replace all the parts that had been broken by the wig hair. It actually took him even less time than he had thought it would, and when he came to tell me it was ready again, he told me that the parts I had ordered were amazing. That made me feel that I was performing my job well and I felt very vindicated by that.
